Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique

  1. It was very hard for me to find lines and framing. There were very few "frames" and lines to work with in the classroom. In addition, it was hard to find simple backgrounds because there is so much going on in classrooms.
  2. I was thinking about trying to find interesting subjects and angles. I didn't just want to have classic and boring photographs. For example, for my simplicity picture I used bird's eye view to capture a more interesting shot.
  3. I would have definitely used my aperture to greater effect now that I understand how to use it. I think my subjects would have stood out more if my background was blurred, and in my framing picture my subject would have stood out more if I brought the background more in focus.
  4. I would continue to capture interesting subjects, use different angles, and keep my pictures in focus.
  5. I think the rule of thirds will be the easiest to achieve.
  6. I think framing will be the hardest rule to capture.
  7. I am still not totally clear on framing. I could look at examples of other framing photographs to better understand the rule.

Aidan's photos were all focus and were taken at different angles, which makes his shoot more interesting.

He could improve his choice of subject.
