V-J Day In Times Square: Alfred Eisenstaedt

1. I chose this image because it is so iconic and captures the spirit of how happy soldiers were to return home from the war and how happy americans were to have them back. The woman in all white caught my eye as well as the obvious passion.
2. Alfred wanted to capture the joy of the day when soldiers came home from WWII, and he also wanted to tell a story. While in Times Square, he saw this sailor grab a nurse to kiss her and shot his image. This image was the most frequently reproduced image of the 20th century.
