To create an HDR image, you have to take several separate images with different adjustments in aperture and shutter speed. To create this type of image, you need a camera, a tripod, and HDR software. Someone might take an HDR image to make an everyday scene out-of-the-ordinary, or to simply create a high-definition, high-contrast work of art. HDR photos add an interesting and dynamic take on normal photos because of the high contrast lighting and bright colors. When we merge multiple photos together, we might see more details than what we can see in just the light or just the dark photo. The nut graf is the part of the story that summarizes the importance of the subject of the piece. Many journalists say it is the most important part of a story. It's job is to tell the readers why the story matters and the put the topic in context. It is important for journalists to not reveal too much in the nut graf, because the goal is to get readers to continue to read the article. Nut graf is a slang term combing the word "paragraph" and the phrase "in a nutshell." The nut graph, while explaining the story's main essence, also acts as a transition between the introduction and the rest of the article. It divides the beginning details and point of the article from the supporting details.

Sports Portfolio Evaluation

Runner-Up #1: Alyssa Shukar Stories All the pictures were of a certain distance, all of the pics had the same feel, and some of the stories could have been told better. The street-sweeper photo was well done and the baseball picture added a happy feel. I didn't really like the portfolio because it was all mixed up. It transitioned from depressing to happy with no transitions. Also, I couldn't really tell what story the pictures were trying to tell. The only positive of the portfolio was that the lighting was good throughout and there were some really strong pictures. Runner-Up #2: Nick Adams Stories The focus was off in the cheerleading picture, photographing disabled children is unoriginal, and the football player picture was framed incorrectly. The photo of a man jumping through pools of light was great and the bird flying had really interesting diagonal lines of blurred light.
